Mesmerising surf. Poldhu Cove.
Poldhu Cove this afternoon. The surf was certainly boiling up.
Storm Ashley is approaching and there is a weather alert out here in SW Cornwall for extremely strong winds and heavy rain tomorrow.
We made the most of the lovely sunny warm morning and afternoon. I went for a walk to Mullion Cove along the cliff first thing, when Stephen popped up to the village for a few supplies. He walked to meet me up near Mullion Cove Hotel afterwards. We went across the field paths to have lunch at the nearby Craft Centre, passing the llamas in their pasture along the way.
This afternoon we spent at Poldhu Cove with coffee at their Beach café where I went down across the sand to watch the waves and take some photos. Stephen was engrossed in a book.
Watching waves is mesmerising and each breaker coming in arched its back to crash over and splinter into foam over and over again.
I drove back later as his nibs set off to walk back along the SW coastal path. I’m hoping to be able to do that walk again when we return next June. After I get my new hip!
Photo of the beach and café in extras. My last one!
