golden sun in local graveyard

Gorgeous day, once the rain had stopped. Spent most of the day at Fatal Shore, a one-day crime writing event. I'm not a huge consumer of crime fiction (though bought two books), but the crime-writers themselves are terrific company; plenty of great anecdotes, frequently told against themselves, a lot of humour and wit. Big name was Peter James, locally the biggest crime writer. He surprised me by being very very posh indeed. Also, again, amusing, self-deprecating and a great story-teller as they all were. I loved too, how they all were very excited introducing their own work - you could tell they enjoy the process.
Home through local graveyard which is actually always beautiful but especially so on a golden October afternoon.
