Tommy and Inca

Last night Tommy went out to London to see friends and came home with Inca, so this morning we all went out for brunch in the village. It was lovely to catch up with both Tommy after his trip to Munich and with Inca. After brunch they left for Cornwall where they are spending the week, and Tommy will get home on Friday night and then fly off to Munich on Saturday to start his new job and PhD. I am very excited for him but also sad to see him go. I obviously had to take a photo of them as I am not sure when I will get the opportunity again!

After the rain this morning it soon cleared into a sunny and mild day. I spent a bit of time ordering small things online for Christmas presents - every year I get requests for socks and boxers so it has become a traditional Christmas present.Yes it's early but we are away during the period when I usually do my Christmas shopping and preparations so need to get a head start on all of it. I have already done my Waitrose Christmas order so the food is all sorted.

Today three members of our camera club were in Blackburn at the national photography print competition hosted by the PAGB (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain). We were lucky enough to qualify for both the PDI (digital images) competition in July and today for the print competition. I say lucky, but it has been so much work for the selection team choosing the right images, then the individuals getting them printed, and then the long drive north to Blackburn. Anyway this afternoon I received a call from one of the camera club members present at Blackburn to say that after the competition they called for a representative of our club to go to the front of the hall, they were wondering what we had done wrong, when the organisers made the surprise announcement that the PAGB print team get to choose their favourite print out of all the entries and it was my print of the San mother and children - I have shown it before on blip but I have added it to extras if you wish to see it. I was obviously delighted to hear about winning that award, and apparently there is something that will be given to me at our camera club meeting on Monday.
