Venue
With neither of us travelling or rowing, and a good weather forecast - for today at least - there was a rare opportunity to go for a walk together. Hence, we headed off for the Trossachs, swapping drivers at the SAS memorial (and Turf monument zone) between Dunblane and Doune.
Stopping at the Ben Venue car park, we made our way steadily up the mountain. It's a relatively gradual path, that is generally pretty good, and there were some lovely autumn colours before we emerged onto the open moorland. It wasn't as sunny as we'd hoped, but there was enough to make it pretty in some directions.
On the way down, Django got bored, and after finding a few "sticks" (heather roots) for me to throw, simply dropped back and walked with a group of three - who had been fawning on him at the summit - before finally rejoining us! Dogs are supposed to be loyal but, maybe like our children, he's confident in his independence...
We are now staying in Callander, where I've taken its monument Turf zone from another Blipper, who had only taken it this morning! We came within 30 minutes of meeting for the first time!
