Rain
It rained during the night. More was forecast today.
After breakfast I headed in light drizzle sans hound and Mr to get a few supplies. Bought some hummus from the wholefood shop and some dog biscuits - fish fingers and chicken and carrot biscuits - from the RSPCA shop. I returned along the prom. Juvenile gulls were perched on the prom wall and turnstones scurried along the path.
Back at the cottage there was a lull in the rain. A good opportunity to take the hound for a walk. Mr is reading Tell No Tales by J M Dalgiesh featuring Sheringham as the location for a murder. He wanted to locate the spot where the murdered victim met their end so we walked east along the prom.
As further heavy rain was forecast, we decided to spend the afternoon indoors until 5pm. I made a pasta sauce for dinner and read.
Around 5pm there appeared a break from the rain. But on venturing out the light drizzle developed into a heavier shower. Determined that it would soon ease we walked along the prom for a while but conceded it wasn't going to improve. Poor Kyro's coat wasn't offering much dry protection.
It was getting gloomy to the west - first extra - and a mist was rolling in from the east - second extra. Despite getting steadily soaked where my raincoat wasn't long enough I really enjoy the varied colours and textures the sea registers under different weather conditions.
Back to the cottage to get dry and have dinner.
The cottage has an impressive television. Our old television at home has stopped working. We're not particularly bothered as Mr watches programmes on his laptop and I on my tablet. Just occasionally we do miss a larger screen. Tonight we watched Strictly. We've deferred purchasing a new set until we move home.
Tomorrow's forecast apparently starts with sunshine until the afternoon when there will be rain high winds. Could be very dramatic.
Stay safe everyone.
