Durham Cathedral

A trip to Durham today. First lunch, then a walk along the river followed by a wander round the cathedral, a place of pilgrimage with the shrine of St Cuthbert. No photos allowed in the cathedral unfortunately. Then the main reason for our visit, the exhibition of the Lindisfarne Gospels. We marvelled over the intricacy of the work and the wonderful colours in such an old document. A national treasure.
