Fly Me to the Artichoke

These honey bees were in seventh heaven this afternoon, and so was I when I spotted them, busy on the artichoke flower.

I'm worried about our bee population, especially after the massive die-offs recently due to pesticide use. We can't afford to be cavalier about using poisons, our entire food system depends on these little miracles. They are among the most fascinating creatures on the planet, imo.
