Amado

Amado is just south of here in the direction of Mexico.  This small pond is behind a defunct restaurant.  There's a B&B there, too. I suspect that if the owners of the place saw us, we wouldn't have been welcome.

I voted today. Brought my mail-in ballot to an official drop box. The long ballot was printed on the front and back and because there were so many propositions (citizens initiatives, legislative constitutional amendments) there was a second long page printed front and back.  I've been voting since I was 18 and never saw a ballot this long. 

Interesting tidbit: I was in the first group of 18-year olds to vote. The Constitutional amendment had just passed (1972) lowering the voting age in the U.S. from 21 to 18.

A woman is sitting at her recently deceased husband’s funeral. A man leans in to her and asks, “Do you mind if I say a word?"
“No, go right ahead”, the woman replies.
The man stands, clears his throat, says “Plethora”, and sits back down.
“Thanks”, the woman says, “that means a lot”.
