A Busy Day at Oscar's

Overnight rain was heavy but the weather brightened before lunch time and  so Basil and I headed for Oscar's pumpkin patch yet again. I wasn't staying in while the weather was so fine. In fact, it was a typical Autumn light. Hazy thanks to the water vapour in the air, but bright sunshine. It was the busiest I'd ever seen it.

Not only were people dragging sledges of pumpkins about, the patch itself was full of people choosing and cutting their pumpkins, the kiddies' roundabouts were playing non-stop, the refreshment booth was busy, and older kids were trying out hay bale jumping.

The route from the car park to the marquee was very muddy in parts but Kieran guided me there and got me a chair to sit on at the entrance.  Basil had to make do with sitting with me this afternoon as there were so many other dogs and people there. He didn't seem to mind especially as I bought him a sausage. Extra.

I give special thanks to Harry, who must have been 11-12 years old, he lives down the road and volunteers at Oscar's whenever he can, because, like me, he just loves the space. He brought me a Turkish pumpkin and carried it as well as taking Basil on his lead, to the car.
