Star Jelly ?
I noticed one of the dogs sniffing at something white on the lawn yesterday afternoon, and found this - or rather a collection of these . The lay out and distribution are given in one of my two extra photos. The other is a close up of this one.
I have never seen this before but on researching all I could discover was the possibility of it being something called "Star Jelly". Precisely what that is seems to be a matter of debate too with most entries suggestion it has something to do with amphibians. Certainly we have toads and frogs around as well as quite a few slugs.
The various references I found said it dissolved quickly but it is still there today, despite torrential rain this morning. The internal structure also seems better defined, but that might of course be something to do with the light, which is brighter now the rain has passed over for the time being.
Any thoughts from Bllippers would be welcome !
