A first date
Wow, that was another whirlwind of a day.
I woke, remembered that I had a first date coming up in the afternoon, and was immediately nervous. But also excited!
Thankfully, a distraction came in the form of a text from my sister Poppy: was I able to receive a visit from her and her family this morning? Yes, I was, and I would be glad of the company. I hadn’t seen her, Pete, or their boys Max and Raffy for several months, so it was especially great to see them all again. Pete and Max were off to see Steve Backshall at the concert hall, and Poppy had other plans with Raffy.
When they left, I just had time to get ready and have some lunch before heading off to the railway station in some beautiful sunshine.
I met my date in Dunblane and we set off on our walk straight away. Although I won’t say too much about it here, things went well. We extended our walk (during which I took today’s photo of autumnal trees), and we decided to continue with a drink and then dinner in Bridge of Allan. I ended the day thrilled but absolutely exhausted, with a second date in the calendar.
