Choice

It will be my turn to host Mahjong on Tuesday so I have to bake. One of the pleasures of our sessions is the homemade cakes and biscuits and most of the group are good cooks.
I used to love baking, but don’t find it so easy now. I have two shelves of recipe books. There is so much choice! These three are favourites. The WI Book of Biscuits is brilliant with a huge selection of biscuit recipes. Delia, of course, is very reliable. These two are sitting on a loose leaf folder full of recipes collected from friends and photocopied from magazines. They say charity shops don’t take recipe books because people get their recipes on line, but it is not the same. In my books there are ticks against the successful recipes, and against one it says “lockdown biscuits, no eggs, no plain flour” fingers crossed I have a successful baking session tomorrow.
