Sorting the Pond
This morning I spent an hour in the garden sorting out the pond for Winter, finishing just before the rain and wind arrived. First I used the submersible pump I’d bought recently to lower the water level as it was about to overflow, better than doing it manually with watering cans. Then I reduced some of the vegetation - hence the use of the long sleeved rubber gloves (shown here drying off after I’d cleaned the dirt off). Then I covered it with netting weighted down by flints, living next to lots of trees it’s necessary to stop the fallen leaves getting in and causing a problem. Other than that, I did a little bit of admin and finished watching Shardlake which was very good. This afternoon I decided to watch the film Napoleon, the critics were right, some good cinematography, but the film itself is disjointed and gives little insight on his leadership. I used my new heated throw whilst watching the film, very cosy! No after effects from my jabs yesterday, not even sore arms.
