sailingships are coming back...

Every year in mid-October, the "Kuiper Brandaris" sailing race takes place from Harlingen to Terschelling.
It is a sailing race for classic flat-bottomed ships such as Klippers Tjalken Botters and Skûtsjes.

Approximately 70 ships are admitted to the race.
This makes the race the largest sailing event of the fleet, which consists of more than 500 ships in the Netherlands.
