Marjorie's ramblings

Home again

I enjoyed my picnic from M&S last night. I was early to bed - the heating did not work in my room…..

I had studied the weather forecasts repeatedly. It seemed to me that I should probably wait until the worst of the rain passed through Aviemore and then drive south. However, if I set off very early, I might miss most of the storm.

So it was that I woke before 4 a.m. and set off at 4.25 a.m. it was dry and windy but no one else was travelling. I saw very few cars until I was on the Edinburgh bypass at 6 a.m. it was quiet again on the A68.

I don’t usually drive in the dark these days so it had novelty value!

The rain did not start until 8 a.m. and was not heavy. I was home and drinking tea at 9.15 a.m.

The cats seem pleased to see me. Daisy has rubbed herself around me for ages and accompanied me when I had an afternoon nap. Oscar has allowed me to pick him up for strokes during treat time.

The image is taken from my upstairs hall window. There are even more leaves there now. The rowans have been denuded and the beeches are following rapidly.

I had an evening meal with Margret. It was lovely to have food prepared for me.

She pointed out that my images over the last few days could have been taken anywhere, so I found some of the mountains and the lochs. I will put more on Facebook when I have time.

It’s always nice to be back home.
