Storm Ashley….

…was slapping Saddleworth Moor this morning. It hadn’t seemed too bad as we drove there, but when we pushed open the car door we were blasted by the full force of the wind. We put WILD into wild swimming this morning. It nearly blew us over until we got behind the wall alongside the reservoir. It was a challenge getting undressed as we had to cling to clothes if we didn’t want them to be whipped away to Huddersfield!

The water was a churning mass of waves that whipped us in the face. It was absolutely brilliant. Louise had joined us for her first try at wild swimming…what a baptism of fire lol. She said she enjoyed it and will go again.

Nettie, Suzanne, Margaret and I went to Grandpa Green’s for breakfast afterwards. We had a good old chin wag and it was great fun. This is why I joined the WI…new friends, new challenges (I’m going to a life drawing class this week!) and fun.
