Storm Ashley did not stop us!

It was Charles's birthday today and I had promised to take him out for lunch. Despite storm Ashley making its presence felt, we were determined to head out After the morning downpours the sun came out at the same time the wind picked up. But the road was clear to Gatehouse of Fleet. We had a lovely meal at the Murray Arms. We then went for a post lunch stroll around the lovely small town, with its interesting architecture (it is a purpose built mill town from the late 18th Century), pretty gardens, like the one behind the old town hall.
Back home friends came round for coffee and then I spent some time preparing food for tomorrow's evening meal, when our two sons come for dinner.
Oh and the wind is dying down!
