Bishop's throne, St. Mary's Cathedral.

A cathedral is a church where the bishop sits.
This is his chair, or throne.
Grand, isn't it?

Empty, isn't it?

We have a new archbishop whose seat this is.
His predecessor frequently presided at daily and Sunday masses.
I have yet to lay eyes on the new archbishop.

I've seen pictures of him, though.
Sure loves to dress up.
Several lacemakers must have lost their eyesight working on his cotta.
Wears all the folderol he's entitled to.
(Just flew to Rome for the latest bit.)

He's going to look awfully pretty on that throne, when he finally shows up.
