Unprepared

The birthday weekend proper started off for me with a game of Lisboa - a highly recommended 'weighty' game by a well known designer that I'd never played.  Two of my friends had a copy and brought one along.  Predictably, I came a firm last but that was expected given my unfamiliarity with it; however, I was happy with my less-than-embarrassing score at the end.

By mid afternoon odd things were going on.  

Some people seemed dressed up and it was suggested that I did likewise, to be ready for the 'Afternoon Tea' - yeah, Ok, why not...?  Thus, we settled down at the table with veritable mountains of cake.  Even J joined in from Europe via video.

Then the Murder Mystery crew unexpectedly* walked in!

Then next couple of hours was spent tracking down the killer of 006-and-a-half.
