Camo Bird

Baby version of Dendragapus fuliginosus, the Sooty Grouse. I was nearly on top of this one, its sibling, and its mother before we managed to notice one another. It happened while I was jogging down the trail from Sunrise to Yosemite Valley, and they were foraging absent-mindedly alongside the path. It was my only stop along the 15 mile stretch, as I was on my way to work. Coincidentally, the John Muir Trail is the best commute ever.
