Stourhead
When I planned my trip I decided I'd break the journey to Gatwick at Avebury for the stone circle because I haven't been there and it might make a nice blip. Flicking through the paper (on my iPad) I saw a pic of the autumn colour at Stourhead. Well, that's a no-brainer I thought, it's just 2 miles off the direct route and it's National Trust and free as I'm a member.
It is gorgeous and the lake was almost ripple free. I took quite a few but the classic view of the Pantheon and a flame coloured acer was the one that I picked for my blip.
I made it to Gatwick OK and I'll attempt to get a few hours shut-eye before my 4.30 check-in tomorrow. I'll blip next from Slovenia, all being well.
