Birds Galore

Today we visited a nearby reserve - Hauxley. We went there on our last visit to these parts 3 years ago. We had a pleasant walk around, visiting the hides on the way. My favourite one was where there were a number of feeders, attracting a whole panoply of small birds: finches, tits, robins wrens, dunnocks and tree sparrows. After a pleasant lunch in the reserve cafe, we stopped off a short distance along the coast and spent an hour sea watching, adding a few more birds to our list for the day. I spotted a Brent Goose. Mr PB saw a Great Northern Diver off Coquet Island with his new-ish scope. As we left the car park, we saw a Stonechat atop a bush. There had been talk of a Siberian Stonechat in the area, but neither of us felt confident to call it.
