It's a what's a name

This tree in my garden, has these unusual flowers not unlike the Catkins must be from the same family, I had the day off today as it was quite nice I thought that it would be nice for a stroll on the golf course being ladies day.
turned out to be a sad day as one if our members who had moved to Dunedin, just a short time ago has passed away, so when I got home I thought of this flower for a blip in memory for our friend, who always took lovely photos of flowers , and had a great talent for framing and had won prizes for her frame work.
