Congratulations to Kate and Wills

Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their first child, a son, on the 22nd of July.
Our family, being ardent Royalists, were delighted to hear the news early this morning. So delighted in fact that we completely broke with tradition and switched on Breakfast TV in order to celebrate with the nation. (We are National Radio fans.)
So it was a wonderful opportunity to set up some special objects to blip. The splendid screen shot of the Town Crier making the announcement set the scene. The drink bottle signifies the very one we are sure the Duchess would have used as she calmly progressed through her confinement. It even has a Crown on it.
The small Fridge Magnet next to the drink bottle is one that daughter M thoughtfully brought back from the UK for me. Note the glow on the Duchess.
As for the pink clock...well we got that wrong. Not our fault at all as the Duchess herself assured us via the media that she was having a d......... Note that Daughter M set the clock at the time that the child was born. But on NZ time I fear.
Then there is the teddy bear. A very special touch as it has been in our family for generations. We wonder if we should gift it to the little Prince but are unsure whether we should post it to Kensington Palace or to Kate's Mum and Dad. Which do you suggest would be the most likely address? I would not want it to go astray.
Now for the vexed question of names for the lad. We are settling on either George or James. My preference would be James as we descend from the Scots ourselves and feel that James may strengthen the links between Scotland and England. We also have a James in our own family and I am sure he would be most flattered to have the little Prince named for him. Our James is resident in Wales so that is yet another strong link to further unite the Kingdom.
In conclusion I am pleased to say that the happy event has distracted our family very nicely. We have almost forgotten about the earthquakes occurring in Marlborough at present. Arohanui. :-)
