Wynne Prize

The Wynne Prize is visiting Dubbo - a chance for us to view some big city artwork. It encompasses both paintings and sculpture.

This work, “Olive”, by Julia Gutman, appealed to me. It is a hanging sculpture made from pieces of fabric that had previously clothed a person and therefore provided a tangible link to that person.

Olive is the whippet. The lady cradling the whippet was going through a period of grief, and it was moving to see the comfort she derived from her dog.
