Leaning

The leaning poplar tree in the middle of the left picture has been this way for some time. I saw it a couple three weeks ago, and thought, I don’t remember that leaning that much. I mentioned it to Tom, and she said yes, she had noticed it. On closer inspection (picture right), it has split from the mother tree, but is hung up in the branches of the next poplar on the left. The tree is about 16 inches across at the base, and 40 to 50 feet tall. A whole lot of weight. I looked on the backside, and the split is about a foot wide, and about 16 inches deep. It would definitely be on the ground had not the other tree caught it. Nothing to do for it now, let Mother Nature take her way. I am definitely not taking it down. For now, I will stay the heck out from under it. Gravity wins, every single time.
