Vigil for Palestine
Healthcare workers organized a vigil for Palestine tonight. Speakers included three physicians and a nurse, all of whom have volunteered medical services in Gaza this year. Their stories are horrific. They say the situation is worse than has been reported, worse than we imagine: countless children have been targeted; ambulances attacked, hospitals bombed, photographers and healthcare workers shot and killed.
People are starving. There is very little water that is safe to drink. Most people don’t even have a blanket to sleep on, and they are exhausted by having been forced repeatedly to flee, surrounded by drones, snipers, and bombers.
Life comes to us on multiple levels. We have our comfortable lives, our warm beds, our beloved children. At the same time we know the genocide continues. Worse than has been reported. The speakers urged us to continue doing everything we can possibly do. (In Extras, two of the physicians.)
