Shit

It is, by any measure, a shit photo. Shit as in bad not that it's a photo of shit. That would be gross and inappropriate. But having dragged Ewan down from Dundee to paint the top of the desk and (more importantly) to help get it out of the garage and into the van, finding that you're trying to apply a water-based emulsion on top of an oil-based primer is, to say the least, unfortunate.

So, having wiped the paint off, I left him with the sander, the dust collector and the ear protection while I made a dash to B&Q for the correct primer. A quick experiment with the paint on the sanded surface suggested that there was enough priming left and that two coats of paint and a coat of varnish would do it. Didn't actually need that new primer.

Now that he's up the road I have the job of manoeuvring the desk top into the van with Mandy. What could possibly go wrong?
