Castle Hill, Huddersfield
MONDAY
I took my usual route to West Yorkshire via the A55, M56, M6, M60, and M62, but returned through a scenic and new (to me) way: Dunford Bridge, Woodhead Pass, Tintwhistle, M67, and M56.
After an audiology appointment, I had lunch with Andrew and Jane—Andrew's an old work colleague from my Environmental Health days. We hadn't seen each other in years so it was great to catch up.
I got home in under two hours, just in time to cook dinner and make it to the village community group meeting by 7 pm.
Today's photo is an old favourite - Castle Hill near Huddersfield, a 4,000-year-old site with remains of ancient hillforts, a 12th-century motte-and-bailey castle, and the Victorian-era Jubilee (Victoria) Tower.
