National Museum of Edinburgh

Visit with two out of three Edinburgh grandchildren.  Sophia still too scared to look at the Egyptian Mummies.  Theo loved the Dinosaurs and Dolly the Sheep.  I loved the Historical Costumes and the Far Eastern Sections.
Photo is a ‘Monk’s Cap Ewer’ (duomuhu).  Quite exquisite!
This style of ewer became popular as the early Qing emperors took up Tibetan Buddhist practices.
The Tibetan style combined with the Chinese dragon motif created a hybrid product desired by Manchu elites.
