Autumn colours on the canal

I noticed this today in fleeting sunlight. I've been having a good day. I wrote a travelogue years ago about a New Year break in Orkney. We were young and stupid, thinking that the locals would welcome us just because we had turned up. I re-read what I'd written, thought it was funny and quite good. I also felt I could improve on it. So that's what I've done today. It's something that could go in a book.
