A Rose in the Rain
There are still rose buds opening in our garden. I keep dead heading them and a couple of days later they are blooming again. I love roses, all ours are scented too.
After I’d taken Bella walkies this morning, I went into Skipton on the bus.
I had a couple of things to collect at The Art Shop. I had a lovely chat with Lisa who works there sometimes. She’s a Liverpudlian like me. I asked her if she does any art and she said she does but she procrastinates as she has no inspiration. I told her that I stopped being creative when the pandemic started because I felt so stressed and she said she was the same and stopped doing so many things just like I did. I tried to encourage her to try and do some art again. She said she would. It took me ages to get back into doing the things I love. Thanks heavens for the garden, it saw me through those times.
Anyway, I have a lovely collection of art stuff for Lucy’s 9th birthday.
I bought her a blank art journal that she can use like a scrap book and draw her own pictures to stick in and I got wooden letter stamps and stamp pads + some decoupage pictures. I also sent for a book from World of Books who sell second hand books. I don’t mind buying second hand as gifts in they are in good order. The description on WOB said like new but when I opened the parcel I saw that it had been chewed at the bottom of the spine as if a dog had been at it. I contacted the company and they are sending me another one.
It’s a really nice book too with lots of ideas for art journalling for kids.
Hope you all had a good day.
Nearly book and bedtime. So goodnight Blippers :-) X
