Monday
Persistent rainfall early morning didn’t prevent Dippy and I from having a good long walk/charge about in the surrounding countryside. Pheasants cavorting around from their roosting areas and some from the undergrowth beneath our feet. There are signs that autumn has arrived but no magical discolouration of the leaves, a natural and gradual decline in daylight resulting in slightly less photosynthesis and leaves turning very slowly less green.
Showered and breakfasted, I organised a clean up and took my laundry down to the farmhouse. Some essential business in town (Barnstaple before hunting some wellington boots. Either cheap and ill fitting or nothing my size!! Off to Mole Valley farmers where I bought some Dippy food and scanned through the wellington boots from £40 to nearly £200.
I decided to leave such major decision making for another rainy day.
I stocked up with some basic food and came across some good value vegetables and at an excellent price.
Chicken and every vegetable in the universe went into the pot.
Generally a quiet and thoughtful day without a lot of drama or conversation.
Zzzzzzzzz.
