Mumma Duck …..

….. ….. ….. & babies; 10 of them!
We’d been walking with a friend around the Matakauri Wetlands when this duck & babies appeared. She was frantically trying to get them to hide in the bushes.

It’s been another hot (for us) day. But there’s snow forecast for the tops, so that’ll cool things off again, if it arrives. My plants are all sorted now so I’m not too worried.

There’s a fire out of control somewhere over near Coronet Peak, with helicopters trying to dowse it with water. What a worry for the farmer.
