Timing
By 9.30 Rufus and I were on our way with Mark, Sue and Babe to go to the Tarim (Agricultural) office in Didim regarding the AHC (Animal Health Certificate) needed for Rufus and Babe to travel to the UK. I loathe Turkish bureaucracy - it is always a stressful encounter regardless of who, what or where, when official approval seems to pivot on a whim. Today the government vet had questions about Babe's passport - a trial for my Turkish - but in the end, he seemed to accept and told us to return on Thursday for the AHC. So now we wait. The international law is that for dogs, tapeworm treatment must be done not less than 24 hours before crossing the border out of Turkey, and not more than five days before arriving in England. Timing is the key.
The rest of the day included activities related to getting ready to travel - but, like the AHC, most of it can't be done yet making he 24 hours before departure a frenetic time.
