Toots in Solitude

By Toots

Hm, I was up at just after half past six and just before 7am I heard my phone. It was Donald which is very unusual because these days Donald can hardly use the phone. Anyway, he said, I'm in north Berwick and I'm worried because it will cost them a lot of money. I must say that this is the biggest scare I've had yet. I rushed upstairs thinking he might well not be there, crikey. But there he was with the phone in his hand looking very worried. Well, I'll not tell all but it was a long, long saga that played out crazily for a very long time.
At 10am we managed along to go on a barge trip workshop we'd planned. It was great fun and we met some lovely folk. I managed to do a reading of Donald's poem about an ageing canal duck. It went down very well.
Then just as we got home it was time to meet with dear Ronnie down from Pitlochry. I made some lunch for us all and we had such a good catch up.
