Entertaining game in which the Shots defended brilliantly to keep the visitors out. Southend will be massively disappointed with a point, but if the footballing gods had been with us we could have nicked a goal in the first minute and/or the 91st.

Good attendance of over 2,500 including over ,500 from Southend. The slab was much busier in the first half when we were kicking towards the high street end. Honest!!
