Older Than Me

The apple tree in our back garden is heavily laden this year, mainly with apples (!) but also with this impressive fungus which seems to be dripping today after last night's spectacular thunderstorms and heavy rain.

As far as we can ascertain, the tree was part of the original orchards that were here before the houses were built in the late 19th Century, which definitely makes it older than me (today's topic for HeartFreek's July Challenge) even if I've felt almost as old as it is, having had one of my bouts of labyrinthitis today. Had to forego the weekly golf round and spent a large part of the day lying down. Seems to have done the trick as I'm feeling steadier again now. The view from beneath seemed appropriate, all things considered.
