Little Dog's Rhapsody in the Night 

She sidles up to me
and makes small, expressive sounds. 
When I'm relaxing

She cocks her head to the side, waiting for the invite
her eyes dark and fervent.

"Tell me you love me," she says looking for cuddles.

"Tell me again."

Could there be a sweeter arrangement? Over and over 
she gets to ask. 
I get to tell. 

I changed the gender of the dog and some of the words in this Mary Oliver poem.
