The Dave Ayre Trio and the Carducci Quartet
I had another set of patron's tickets for tonight's event, so V and I went along to the Subscription Rooms for a drink and a balcony seat, and a rare chance to be treated like VIPs. It's great fun. No one was name dropping Sting or Elton tonight.
And the music? It's sublime. Apparently the Carducci string quartet are world-famous, and often to be heard on the radio. What were they doing in Stroud with a jazz trio and a poet, Anthony Burton? No idea, but all power to their elbows! I shall be looking out for more of them.
Apart from that, I worked. Just finishing packing now: off to Whitby in the morning. My sister K has wisely decided not to drive around Edinburgh in the rush hour tomorrow after work, so won't be joining me until Saturday midday. Shame, but I can see the sense in it.
