Great Crested Grebe?

A little Great Crested Grebe or a Red Necked Grebe swam today after us and asked for food. It sung loudly and climbed to us.

We gave it some small worms to eat and they tasted apparently very well. Then we called for nature bird security of this area to have some advice what to do with it, if the mother bird will not appear.
The advice was to let it swim. It has to grow in water and we just have to hope the mother bird will come back for it.

After a while - an hour or so - the mother bird came to the centre of the lake. As well as another small birdie swam to the shore. Mother seemed very ignorant.

Odd parent.

Thanks for commenting and stars for the rescue team - blip yesterday. Today we took a motorboat and picked the traps from the island coast line. Quite a windy morning, nice to wash face by driving a boat!!!
