Horton hears a what?
This butterfly, from this angle, reminded me of one of the characters in the Horton Hears a Hoo movie, hence the title.
This was another rescue from the pool, not the skimmers this time. It's a swallowtail butterfly, which I hadn't seen before until they were blipped a couple of times by D'aici enfora. Now we seem to see them everywhere! This one was clearly still alive, so we let it sit on the pool noodle used to rescue it and angled it to get the best sun to dry it out. Great chance to get lots of different shots of it, including some decent close ups. They'll join the litany of bugs I now have on flickr when I get around to sorting them all out.
I have put more shots from yesterday's feria on flickr if you fancy a look. The leg, since you ask, looks disappointingly normal today - but still hurts like crazy. I'm hopeful that tomorrow it will look as sore as it feels and I may get a sympathy vote day sitting in the shade being waited on!
Saw a Golden Oriole today - actually 3 of them - which are just the most beautiful bird with an eerily tropical song. I don't rate my chances of photographing one, but I'll have a go.
