Gently down the stream

Yellowhammer

This is one of the yellowhammers that lives up on the butterfly reserve.  Such neat little birds and luckily right by the entrance so I didn't have to walk too far, something I wasn't keen on after my jaunt yesterday.  Still it was good to get out and away from endless domesticity.

On the whole a grey day - never my favourite weather for blipping.  The sun was supposed to come out this afternoon (which is why I was up there at all) but the attempt was feeble, it has to be said.

The leaves round here are now weeping off the limes, the ashes and beeches but it's odd how green the oaks and sweet chestnuts still are.  When the kids were young I remember all leaves being off the trees by the end of October, but I haven't seen that for a long time.

Take care, lovely blippers, have a good Friday evening and a happy weekend  xx
