Life's Little Moments

The Usual Suspects

In the garden today were all the Usual Suspects for this time of year, including about 30 Cedar Waxwings who absolutely refused to be photographed.  Happily for me, one of the blue jays landed briefly in a spot with some nice fall colors behind.  A bit of a heavy crop on this, but I think it works well enough for today.

Peg will be arriving in a few hours, and my other two besties tomorrow.  I did some cleaning this morning in preparation for their arrival and then headed out to buy groceries.  Tonight I am doing some marinated shrimp that I will quickly roast in a hot oven and serve with salad and some fresh local squash.  Easy and healthy.

Mom had her trigger thumb release surgery this morning and is home now recovering.  Glad it's done and hopefully it will fix the problem with her thumb once and for all.  They had to be at the surgical center at 6 this morning so I don't think either of them got a whole lot of sleep - hopefully a nap will find its way onto their schedule today.  Hard being so far away.

I made homemade keto brownies today which will be desert tonight for the three of us, along with some sugar-free keto ice cream (peanut butter flavor).

Cheers!

Debbi
