How could I forget my NHS rant! And I should say before I start that I used to work in the NHS, have been a satisfied customer and am generally a fan. It's just the systems that seem to let it down.

Saw the consultant in May. Received letter to book MRI early June. Done. MRI done before holiday. Radiologist asked if I had a follow up and (thankfully) to ring if I hadn't received a follow up in a couple of weeks. Slight delay due to recent events, having to find the number and not being able to get through when I could ring. And today - success :-)

Only to be told that I was meant to ring to book the follow up as soon as I had the date for the scan. Grrrr. Oh and the next available appointment is September 10. I'm doing well to just say grrrr I think. Particularly when I could have already had the appointment, decided about surgery and planned ahead. It's difficult to book a trip to Oz if you don't know if/when you're having surgery, how soon you'll be able to fly, will I get travel insurance etc etc.

I could leave surgery till after then but that impacts my work choices and so on.

Oh well. Rant over.
