Funeral

I like this bit of the year where on broadleaved trees you can see the shape of the crown AND the shape of the branches. 50% opacity.

It was J's dad's funeral today. I looked after her two girls and new pup F and then joined them at the wake afterwards. The girls were so well behaved and so kind to each other, and F (although a pup) seems almost like an old soul. He was such a good boy.

It was great to speak to some of J's other friends at the wake. N in particular is so earthy and warm and offered lots of words of comfort. It was also really interesting to see J's 'little' brother and friends all fully grown up men. Proper adults.

I also had an impromptu evening with S, my oldest friend, which was most welcome. She was on good form.
