Caught in the web
Another mainly indoor day as the weather was cool grey overcast and damp. That said, I had a good walk with our visiting dog and we saw signs of Halloween emerging in gardens. There are many warnings about using artificial web as birds etc can get trapped but this display, apart from trapping a couple of spiders, seemed very firmly affixed to the gate.
As I was settling down to draft a paper I happened to look on my phone at a request on Facebook from a friend who already had that status. As I went to reject my finger brushed again confirm. Too late! Within minutes friends were messaging to say they had been getting friend requests from me. So I had to post an “ignore” message. And for good measure, though I don’t think strictly necessary I changed my password.
The web can be irritating in other ways and not just to wildlife!
Meantime my new “friend” is asking after me in somewhat florid messages, saying how good it is to be alive, and asking whether I was watching Fox News and an item about trust funds. “Ignore”!
