At the Library

We had another beautiful Fall day, perfect for working outside. Hubby checked our cabin air filters on our truck and my van. A mouse had built a snuggly nest in hubby’s SUV filter area. He/she will have to look elsewhere for a winter home. He has a rodent detractor spray that he coats the vehicles with occasionally. Each vehicle got a good spray down! We worked on the gardens by our back porch and garage. Liriope and oregano had spread throughout the porch garden. I originally put the oregano there to ward off deer. But now it is a mess. Hubby and I dug it all out (hopefully). My sister gave me a new plant to put in that garden. I had never heard of a Bletilla striata. If it blooms, it should be gorgeous. We put down landscape paper and hubby covered the bed in pine bark mulch. The garage garden will get mulch tomorrow and I will tackle the gazebo garden. I picked Brooklyn up from the bus stop. She needed to change into soccer clothes so we dropped by the Leonardtown Public library. While she changed, I walked through their outdoor decorative reading/sitting area. There are five of these sculptures (I think). Each has a quote that is very reflective. They are resurfacing the main road so we were a few minutes late getting to her individual goalie training. But the guy understood and stayed for a full hour. His fees are commensurate with his knowledge. I dropped Brooklyn at home and ran by the grocery store to get chicken. Hubby power washed the back patio while I was gone. What an incredible improvement that made. We continued to work outside until dark and I certainly did not have enough energy to prepare a meal. Wishing you a fantastic weekend. You humbled me with your caring hearts, stars and comments on yesterday’s entry. My anniversary blip was number 12 on the popular page. Thanks so much.
