Park life
A dry morning on the brisk side, took a drive into the centre of Newport where you will find just off Commercial Street a small but lovely little park.
The park use to be called Old mans park in the area of Park Square.
it was always known as the Old Man’s Park after the rather imposing and frightening figure who glared out from his chair at the top of the park, the figure was a statue of Lord Tredegar.
This statue has now been moved to Bridge Street near Westgate Square in Newport.
