Dance of Zelongo

Last day, packed up and checked out.
We had a lot of the day to kill and had already decided to visit the Monument of Zelongo as it was sort of on the way to the airport.
When researching the area prior to going on holiday this was the one thing I wanted to see. If you read my previous posts you will realise the todo list for this holiday was extremely short.
I knew nothing about the story prior to this trip, detail are here if you are interested.
It is at the top of a mountain and to get to it you have to go up some steep paths and clime a lot of big steps. It is, in medical terms, a significant aerobic exercise. We stopped a lot going up to admire the view, sitting down on the rocks several times to get a better view. We did not have to stop for the view coming down.
The statue is on the edge of the cliff but it is possible to walk all round it so you can look right over the edge of the precipice and appreciate the size of the drop.
The views around were stunning and the Dancers both powerful and touching. A significant way to end the holiday
